Bernard graduated with a B.Com at UCT in November 1973.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant 1976 having served his articles
at Rosenberg, Shoolman and Gordon.

He was admitted as a partner of the firm in 1978 and has been in public practice since this date. For the last ten years, Bernard practiced under
the style of Bernard Lazarus & Co and merged his firm with HLB Marx Gore
on 1 March 2009. Bernard has a wide and loyal practice and has been involved in the listing of public companies as well as several large corporate restructuring projects. He has a strong interest in the dynamics associated
with family owned businesses and holds many trusteeships.
